Over the years I’ve cherry-picked a number of yatai videos (only the finest) into a playlist on youtube.

Some particular favorites of mine include

Yatai Mori

Mori-san’s yatai is of the typical Fukuoka manufactured type - made by (I believe) a company called Kojima. I like the way the shelves work in these carts - and the color on his is dope. Also, he looks like a Japanese version of my Grandpa so I like him

Hiroshima Dreadnoughts

This dude…this dude built his own battleship of a yatai. Several yatai operators in Hiroshima have this style, which is more reminiscent of a Meiji-era yatai from the late 1800s. The thing I like about this yatai is that it has a shelf on one end - thats the old-school design element - which allows, in his case, for a television to be placed such that people can sit and watch baseball or whatever together. Feels like it makes it more of a clubhouse - but at the cost of seating space.

Also, dude says he regrets building it that way cos its so heavy.
